Layout nodes

Press Shift+A, or release a dragged wire on empty canvas, to open the node search ("Search nodes…").

In the tables, drag scale N means a 200-pixel drag moves the value across the span from the minimum to N; keep dragging, or double-click and type, to reach the full registered numeric range. A dash in the bounds column means no scalar range is listed; it does not promise that every input type accepts unrestricted values.

Reroute

A Reroute is a small dot that splits a wire in two without changing the value it carries. Double-click a wire to insert one exactly where you click. It is selected straight away, so Ctrl+X removes it and reconnects the wire. Known limitation: the dot cannot be dragged after it is placed, so double-click where you want it. At 100% zoom or closer, pressing the right half of the dot starts a new wire from it; pressing its left half picks up the wire coming into it and disconnects it (drop that wire back on the dot's left edge to reconnect it). To move the dot, box-select it together with a neighbouring node and drag that node.

The table lists Colour because that is the stored placeholder type; a Reroute carries whatever is connected to it. The Default shown is never used: a Reroute with nothing connected passes nothing, and the next node uses its own value.

The editor accepts any wire into or out of a Reroute, so it will not stop a mismatched connection made through one (for example a shader output into a colour input). Connect like with like.

Known limitation: do not put a Reroute on the wire into Material Output › Ground; the Ground Receiver is then ignored.
