Color nodes

Press Shift+A, or release a dragged wire on empty canvas, to open the node search ("Search nodes…").

In the tables, drag scale N means a 200-pixel drag moves the value across the span from the minimum to N; keep dragging, or double-click and type, to reach the full registered numeric range. A dash in the bounds column means no scalar range is listed; it does not promise that every input type accepts unrestricted values.

Mix

Blends two colours using the mode selected by Type. Clamp clamps the output colour to the [0, 1] range.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
TypeChoicemix—mix, add, multiply, screen, overlay, subtract, divide, difference, darken, lighten, dodge, burn, hue, saturation, value, color, soft_light, linear_light, exclusion
ClampBooleanOff——

Color1Colour0, 0, 0——
Color2Colour0, 0, 0——

Outputs

ColorColour

RGB to BW

Converts a colour to a greyscale luminance value using the standard perceptual weights.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
ColorColour0, 0, 0——

Outputs

SocketType
ValFloat

Invert Color

Inverts the colour by computing 1 − Color, blended by Fac (0 = original, 1 = fully inverted).

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
FacFloat10 to 1—
ColorColour0, 0, 0——

Outputs

SocketType
ColorColour

Mix Color

Blends two colours using the mode in Type. Clamp Result clamps the output to [0, 1]; Clamp Factor (on by default) clamps Factor to [0, 1] before blending.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
TypeChoicemix—mix, add, multiply, screen, overlay, subtract, divide, difference, darken, lighten, dodge, burn, hue, saturation, value, color, soft_light, linear_light, exclusion

Gamma

Applies a power-law gamma correction to the colour.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
ColorColour0, 0, 0——
GammaFloat10 to 10—

Outputs

SocketType

Bright/Contrast

Adjusts the brightness and contrast of a colour linearly.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
ColorColour0, 0, 0——
BrightFloat0-100 to 100—
ContrastFloat0-100 to 100—

Outputs

SocketType
ColorColour

Hue/Saturation/Value

Shifts hue, scales saturation and value, then blends the result with the original by Fac. Hue 0.5 leaves the hue unchanged; 0 and 1 shift it by half the colour wheel.

Inputs

SocketTypeDefaultRegistered numeric boundsChoices
HueFloat0.50 to 1—
SaturationFloat10 to 2—
ValueFloat10 to 2—
FacFloat10 to 1—
ColorColour0, 0, 0——

Outputs

RGB Curves

Applies a user-defined curve to each RGB channel (and optionally a combined curve) within the range [Min X, Max X]. Click the curve strip under the node's rows to open the editor. For a single value, use the Float Curve node instead. Fac blends the effect (0 = original, 1 = full curve). Fac starts at 0, so the curve has no effect until you raise it to 1. In the editor, click to add a point, drag to move it, then click a point and press Backspace to remove it (two points always remain). Pick C, R, G or B first to choose which channel to edit.

Inputs

Max XFloat10 to 1—

Float Curve

Applies a user-defined curve to a single float value within the range [Min X, Max X]. Click the curve strip under the node's rows to open the editor. Factor blends the result with the input Value (0 = original, 1 = full curve). Factor starts at 0, so the curve has no effect until you raise it. In the editor, click to add a point, drag to move it, then click a point and press Backspace to remove it (two points always remain).

Max XFloat10 to 1—
ExtrapolateBooleanOn——
FactorFloat00 to 1—
ValueFloat00 to 1—

Outputs

Color Ramp

Maps a float value to a colour gradient defined by the Ramp stops. Each stop's opacity is set in its colour picker and drives Alpha. Interpolate on = linear blending between stops; off = hard steps. Click the ramp bar under the node's rows to open the editor: click the bar to add a stop, drag stops left or right, double-click a stop to open its colour picker, click a stop and press Backspace to remove it (minimum two stops remain). Fac 0–1 spans the bar left to right. Wire the output Fac of a texture node into Fac to colourise it.
