Drag over real surfaces
Surface crawl moves an object along nearby surfaces, climbing curves and sliding round obstacles. Surface placement seats its base directly on the face under the pointer, such as a tabletop, rim or wall.
Stage the product and its props by moving them over real surfaces, then isolate, measure and check each part before you commit to a shot.
Placement follows the geometry in your scene, and every arrangement step can be undone.

Drop a part to the floor, onto the object below or back to its home position. Mate face to face or axis to axis, and animate a hinge from the mate.
Move, rotate and scale with gizmos or keyboard steps, snap to increments, or type exact world values in the Transform dialog.
Group, rename, hide, lock and duplicate parts. Locking protects finished placement from accidental drags.
Isolate the selection to study one component, select every part sharing a material, and measure centre-to-centre distances and angles between parts.
Display filters switch gizmos, selection outlines, dimensions, notes and onion skins on or off, with Clean and Animation Only presets.
A lighting designer imports a table lamp assembly and a side-table prop. They drag the lamp with surface placement so its base sits flat on the tabletop, then use Shift to move only the shade and check its relationship to the bulb. Isolating the switch housing lets them inspect it alone, and a quick angle measurement confirms the arm position before the lamp is locked and the cameras are set.
