Geometry & surface effects

Add the condensation on a chilled can, the fizz in a glass, the pile on a plush toy or the sparkle in a glitter finish, directly on your product model and sized in real millimetres.

Detail that makes a product feel real

Each effect is added from the material editor, starts from a named preset and is tuned with physical sizes and densities.

Water droplets

Set droplet size, density, height and wetting, add streaks, fog and micro-droplets, and let drops run off with trails. Presets include Rain, Cold Drink, Morning Dew and Water-Repellent Beads.

Bubbles and foam

Place fine surface bubbles, trapped air or resin air pockets, or rising streams from bubble sites. Foam heads control depth, cell size, creaminess, drain and cling.

Flakes and glitter

Scatter disc, square, hexagon, shard or crystal flakes on or inside a part, from Silver Glitter and Gold Leaf Chips to a drifting Snow Globe.

Fuzz, fur and hair

Grow fibres with length, density, clump, gravity and wind controls, from velvet sheen and peach-skin fuzz to plush teddy fur.

Displacement

Raise noise or Voronoi relief with size and amount in millimetres, as lightweight bump shading or true geometric displacement.

Dirt and wear

Settle grime into recesses or along exposed edges with radius, amount, noise and colour controls, starting from CAD recess and exposed-edge presets.

Design example: a craft beer can and pint

A packaging designer presents a new can alongside a poured pint. The can uses the Cold Drink droplet preset, with a few runners that slide down and leave trails when the timeline plays. The glass uses Beer Glass droplets stopping at the liquid level, Sparkling Drink bubbles rising from sites in the beer, and a Beer Head foam that slowly drains. The same scene works as a still and as a short looping clip.

Droplets, bubbles and flakes have motion controls such as speed, direction, gravity, turbulence and lifetime that play with the timeline, while fur and hair have wind and sway controls.

How it works

  1. Select a part and add an effect from the material editor.
  2. Pick the closest preset, such as Cold Drink or Silver Glitter.
  3. Adjust size, density and coverage in millimetres to suit the product’s scale.
  4. Turn on animation where supported, then play or render the timeline.
